Ridley-Tree Education Center
Santa Barbara Museum of Art
Santa Barbara, CA
Adjacent to the Historical Landmarks District and a popular urban park, this masonry and stucco building received a significant renovation. New additions included a copper-roofed porte cochere, a wood pergola, and tiled deck with wrought iron railing. The U-shaped structure surrounds a manicured courtyard filled with sculptures and other artistic displays.
Complete educational facilities include classrooms for drawing, painting, and pottery. They open on to a translucent, coffered sky-lit gallery whose display walls are constantly filled with artistic works. A 1,500 square foot great space is a gathering place for critiques by visiting artists, lectures, and art shows.
