Louders Lane

Jamaica Plain, MA

While Architect-In-Residence, I created a design for a new master bedroom suite located in the attic space with a new dormer of this Craftsman style bungalow situated in one of Boston's oldest neighborhoods. The staircase was redesigned to provide easy access. A new master bath with a tiled shower punctuated by a round stained-glass window, a recycled pink marble sink, and a water closet area--again punctuated with another round stained glass window--receive light from both the window wall and skylights. This light from above also filters into the sleeping area which is tucked under the gable roof peak and is anchored by a free-standing, triangular-topped clothes closet. The eyebrow windows are yet another source of daylight and provide a unique design element.
